Future of Tourism in the MENA Region: Strategic Vision

The World Bank has been very involved in the MENA region, especially in the aftermath of the recent political changes.

GAIA-heritage was contracted to assess the impacts of these changes on society, the economy and tourism. The resulting strategic vision provided guidelines for adjusting the future loans of the World Bank in infrastructure and rehabilitation works related to the touristic development in the region.

The report was submitted and approved; developments of specific items of the report were undertaken from the second half of 2012 onwards.
