Abertis Foundation Yearly Conference
Each year, the Spanish Abertis Foundation organises a conference on Sustainable Heritage Management. In 2007, Gaia-heritage was commissioned to design the scientific programme of the Foundation’s 7th conference, around the theme “Cultural Itineraries and the Formation of Europe”. The Conference took place on November 29th in the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris.
A panel of heritage and art specialists from Europe and with different backgrounds contributed to the conference: Professor John Onians (University of Norwich – UK), Mme Françoise Tondre (Council of Europe), Professor Stefano Musso (University of Genoa – Italy), Dr. Friedrich Lüth (director of the German-Latin Commission), Professor Jordi Tressaras (University of Barcelona) and M. Jacques Giès (Chief Curator – Musée Guimet – France). The opening speech and concluding remarks were delivered by Georges Zouain, Gaia’s Principal. The Conference was a great success, as a zealous debate with the public opened new grounds for the understanding of the conference’s topic and tackled issues.
