Conference: Responding to Cultural Emergencies

The Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development has invited Georges Zouain, CEO of GAIA-heritage to take part in the international conference (The Hague, 25-26 September) on “Culture is a Basic Need: Responding to Cultural Emergencies”. This conference was organized in the framework of the Fund’s programme for Cultural Emergency Response. This participation takes place within the contribution of GAIA-heritage to the appeal launched by EUROPA NOSTRA, ICA, ICCROM, ICOM, ICOMOS and the WHCO in favor of the post war reconstruction in Lebanon. While at the Conference, Georges Zouain submitted to the Fund a request for the reconstruction of cultural institutions in Southern Lebanon villages.
